If you could see Biscuit NOW, you would never believe how bad he looked, only a week ago! The bruising is gone, the blisters have healed. The scab fell off the cut on his head. All skin except his nose, is now normal color. The nose is still slightly pink, and there is only a small scab at the bottom of one ear. He is eating & drinking well, and ran with some of our babies in the main ferret room, yesterday! He did have nightmares for several days, but the crying in his sleep has pretty much stopped now. He still sleeps a little more than usual, but he`s doing much better. The response from the ferret community has been overwhelming. Our phone has been ringing off the hook with calls from well-wishers, people who were asking for updates on his condition, and those who wanted to share THEIR stories. Our email inbox has been flooded with the same. Many just wanted to respect Lisette`s request for no emails, and were asking us to pass along their best wishes. Rose German sent us an offer of help ("Paypal? Bedding? How can we help?") We thought it would be great if she could send bisquit one of her nice, padded sleepy sacks to take home with him, when he is returned to his mommy, next week. It arrived today. The cutest little pattern she calls "Zoo Sanctuary" (No, Not "Zoo`s FERRET Sanctuary"--- just "Zoo Sanctuary" . Coincidence??? LOL) A cute little blue & yellow animal print. She had just listed one like it on Ebay. SO cute!!! and a little blue & yellow crocheted egg to match, with a darling little card that says "For Bisquit Love, Auntie Rose" On the same day, we got a call from Karen Poehlein-Lee. She had read Bisquit`s story, & it had haunted her terribly. She went to the trouble to get our phone number, so she could contact us and ask about him. She wanted to help somehow also, and is making some extra padded bedding for Bisquit. Kim Fox sent some positive Reike energy this way for Bisquit too. I am touched that so many people have sent supportive emails, positive thoughts, well-wishes, loving energy & prayers--and that two women with a love of ferrets cared enough to send gifts to a little ferret boy they have never even laid eyes on. This is what it`s all about. A love of ferrets. May God bless you richly. Love, Zoo [Posted in FML 5634]
