An opinion from a bipolar psychotic might not carry much weight in this case, but this twisted puppy loved the ad. Yes, I'd give that baby two thumbs up if the leg wasn't cut off in the end ... a bit too much for "tv". In my own sick way, I found the ad to be complimentary to ferrets. The point and humor of the ad was the ironicy that the terrifying slasher in the woods was one of the cutest, littlest animals in the world. Without that, there would be no ... point. You're missing it all together if did not see that as their intent here. No doubt had it been a bunny, you'd be laughing your butts off because you'd see the ridiculousness of it all. But we do tend to have a bit of a chip on our shoulders due to the way ferrets and ferret owners sometimes have been depicted in the past, I understand that. And I hope you do too however. I assume there will be purists that wish to never see ferrets in any sort of questionable light ever. I respect that. I also realize that I could be the one in the wrong here. But if you are one that still hates the ad and truly believes it to have some sort of negative impact, please, please remember that it was made without any ill feeling towards the animals and with very much quite the opposite intent. I really hope that if you contact the company to voice your opinion it is without wild fanaticism because I don't want the reputation of our community as narrow minded, bizarre, freaks to be perpetuated (such as with some of the embarrassing letters that were directed to Ben Stiller a couple years ago). THAT is what hurts our credibility and the animals in the long run. [Posted in FML 5615]
