Hello, fellow FMLers! I've been to the Atlanta and Toronto Symposiums(?) and loved them both. I had planned on attending the St. Loius one, but unfortunately couldn't get off work :( Although anyone who knows me well would not say this, I'm kind of "shy", not overly outspoken, and actually get pretty nervous speaking in front of people. These symposia are a great way to "come out of my shell"--I can talk about ferrets with no problem, so put me in a room w/150 ferret lovers and I think I could find someone to talk to!! I'm counting the days until Portland. I've never been farther than Iowa, so just the thought of going all the way west is exciting! I'm real sorry I missed the Las Vegas Sym. That would have combined my 2 loves!! (No, I 'm not talking about Wayne Newton!). Anyone who hasn't been to one of these is definitely missing out. The speakers are all excellent, you learn so much and they're always willing to answer questions personally. The vendor tables and raffles are great (bring any extra money you have--you'll need it! There is always at least 1 thing at each table that you or your fuzzies can't live without). Ferret people are a special bunch. They all have a great desire to help each other and the fur kids they live for. Please, do yourself a favor and attend at least one of these. Your kids will thank you and you'll walk away with at least a dozen new friends. Hope to see you there!! Amy F. Hamburg, NY [Posted in FML 5570]
