Hello, I did go into the Aberdeen Scamps as I said I would. The woman tending the store said she was the manager and I told her I was there concerning the ferrets. She was polite although much of what I tried to address was met with an "I know that,but..." attitude. She said there was no bedding/hammocks because they tear them up. She said when they get some new hammocks in she will give them a try. I was told that they had been housed in a large ferret cage but had trouble with ferret poop falling outside the cage and they ran into legal issues. I made some suggestions but fear they fell on deaf ears. I did address the shavings but no action was taken will I was there. I did however convince her to put some safe play toys in. The larger two were manageable although I did receive a couple of small punctures. The littlest one was extremely vicious and will take quite a bit of socializing. Unfortunately I am not able to get in daily but will as often as possible and will call them on a regular basis for updates. I fear for these little ones with the biting issueas while I there a family came up and offered their fingers at the cage bars. These ferrets first thought is to bite and bite hard as opposed to those that have had some form of socialization. While there is a small sign posted inconspicously, the cage is positioned so that the sign is not visible from the side. I will do my best and anyone else in the area needs to help as well. -- Karen Young Ferret Affair [Posted in FML 5568]
