Hello you guys -- I have been FML-offline for a few weeks now -- not a lot of email access and NOW I am in a Bangkok (Thailand) hospital having had a facelift! At any rate, I listened to Sukie's advice about bringing an Asian ferret home through Africa, and also I got a message on ThaiVisa (thaivisa.com) from some buffoon who says "they" have stopped selling ferrets becasur the Thai people have realized that they are smelly little beasts. Now of course that is not the actual wording, though it is the flavor of the post. I will find it later and send it along. I have taken dogs with me on trips (Mexico and France) with no problems and quarantines (you just need recent vet certificates before travel in eithre direction), but I can see that Asia and Africa might be different. I could (and most definitiely would) have gotten vet tests, etc for standard things, but I gather that some zoonotics might not be detectable??? Abt the face lift {OT, of course), I've been wanting to do this for a zillion years, but have always either chickened out or bowed to PC peer pressure. But here I am, at 65, having done the deed. I am keeping a little diary of it all via emails and photos, and it will include some amazing *very optional* pix that I did not take myself. The folks in the operating room documented the whole thing. I haven't seen these yet. If anyone is interested in my experiences, write me privately and I'll send yuo the emails I have sent to friends and family (no pix yet) and will happily answer questions about my Thai experiences. I have been doing major dental work too -- dental implant, for example. I'm happy with the results so far. Best wishes to you all. I am craving FML fixes adn of course fert cuddles. In a few days I should still be here at the hosp and will be able to fet caught up with the daily FMLs. I'm only at 2/27. I wonder if Wolfy has posted pix of my ferret indoor-outdoor setup! I haven't seen them yet myself. The setup is far from elegaic in the wintertime, but the bamboo and the up-high tunnels make the ferts happy! [Posted in FML 5543]
