I'm not sure how much PETA played a part in the rescue, but I do know that Layton Co Animal Control worked with several groups, including Best Friends, ferret shelters and rescue coordinators to the ferrets benefit. I wasn't aware of a visit from a Peta member, but I did know that someone from Peta called animal control. I was told the ferrets weren't in danger of ever being euthanized by Layton Co Animal Control. It is understandable that animal control didn't talk to everyone that called, they had no idea who was who and what would come of it. We were very blessed that DeAnn was willing to work with us. The ferrets were moved one week after they were confiscated, not several, and it was Layton Animal Control that got the ferrets relinquished so they could be moved. I don't know where the mistaken information came from on this issue but if anyone needs specifics to clarify, I can pull out my file. tle www.ferretfamilyservices.org [Posted in FML 5529]
