You may want to check with local hotels and find out where they get their blackout drapes from. It's pretty dark in the room when those drapes are closed. Another option is to go to a fabric store with a drapery department and ask them for blackout lining or blackout drapes. There are upholstery stores as well that may carry a variety of drapery fabrics. There are different thicknesses of fabric and different styles. Someone mentioned foam-backed drapes and those would probably work to keep the light out. If you go to a fabric store, you would have to figure out how much fabric you would need to cover your windows and just buy lengths of fabric and attach with drapery hooks or safety pins or whatever works. Or, you could ask at the fabric store if they can recommend someone to make the drapes for you, or if they could offer suggestions for how to attach the fabric. I bought some "room darkening" fabric a couple of years ago, but I didn't buy enough of it, so it isn't doing that great of a job. I bought it at a discount fabric store and used clip-rings to attach it to my curtain rods. Inez [Posted in FML 5401]
