'Hi Friends - Blossom here, Well we have some not so wonderful news and some better news today. Not so wonderful is that Our elder boy Harry aka Professor Harrington Ferretwise, one of 19 ferrets seized by Police in Manchester NH in Jan 2002, passed away early in the AM on Sunday. Harry as we liked to call him, was a slight but elegant gent a light silver blaze who picked our shelter Mom out from his cage at the ARL. Well Harry was so wonderful he was the greeter and comforter here for all the kids that came & went, but a year ago he got all depressed when the youngsters were all adopted... so much that Momma had to go and find a younger ferret for him. Austin was the one and though Harry was happy - as soon as more kids started coming into the shelter Harry got real upset. He just could not take the hustle and bustle he needed some constancy. Harry was getting old for shelter life. That is when shelter Mom called Judy at St Gregory's hospice cuz our Harry was crying real live tears. They were rolling down his cheeks. Off they went and Harry was reunited with Lucky at St Gregory's house. He played like a youngster and got to have a home of his own with free roam and a mamma who spoiled him rotten. Harry had been playing up a storm until Saturday night when he was tired, and started crying again. Momma Judy held Harry forever. She told him about all his friends who were waiting for him at Rainbow Bridge, she told him it was alright to go, that one day we would all meet and party together. He ate a few licks of soup and curled up for the night and Harry drifted right off to sleep and jumped to Rainbow Bridge. The folkses are sad, but they know Harry did it his way and are thankful . I hope he sends me some extra treats as I think he has new ones now! So the better news is Our boy Nestle is a year older. He had a nice party with Mom and we all got invited to watch too. There were n bones for all! There were NINE birthday cards for Nestle, some drawn pictures and he received some TF treats and foamy fries! What a popular guy! Momma said he did not have to share his foamy fries, but he did agree to share the TF treats. The party will continue as Momma had not enough time to get the big pile of leaves in we are hopeful she does that for tonight so in the morning we can roll and play in th leave s at OUR playtime. I know Momma plans to have pictures to email folks but has been busy here with goings on. They are in the midsts of sending out a Fall shelter mailing-- so watch for it! Also there are new foster grandparent pages made. We hope that robert gets them linked to the shelter site soon, but you can access them direct by going to: http://www.earlysunrisefineart.com/page41.html Today was specially nice for all us here at the shelter, Andrea came to help Momma withthe mailing-- the best things was that she came and played with us all afterwards. Even Nestle got a hug and held but he was more interested in finding his stash of treats in the paper shred box. Meanwhile Albus got the most cuddles being the mushy guy he is. We all were kind of sleepy after a long day-- so Momma tucked us in our cage with a treat of course and put Animal Planet on the TV ( a new shelter treats) for all of us. Iffen that Albus guy wasn't glued to it! Hmmmm wonder what's so special? Meanwhile Momma is cleaning here getting ready for Fall and has bunches of neat Holiday gifting things on ebay like mugs, tee shirts and more ! you can check those things out at: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZcreativekolor I gotta take a nap i have had a long day, Friendly licks from Blossom, spokesferret www.ferretwise.org [Posted in FML 5392]
