Let Kathy Stewart know what you're bringing [log in to unmask] Lots of great salads, desserts and other picnic items have been promised...bring your appetite! Raffle: A Chinese raffle of over 200 ferret-related items will be offered. Drawing will be at approximately 4:00 p.m. You don't know what you are missing if you don't stop by to check out our selection of food, toys, t-shirts, ferret novelties, bedding, shampoo and grooming items - even a few cages and play items. 50/50 Raffle: New for 2006! A 50/50 cash drawing will be held. Tickets are $1 each. Special Guest Speaker: Bob Church will join us once again to speak on ferret enrichment, proper dental care and kibble diets. Games for the Fuzzies: Paper Bag Escape: Each ferret is placed inside its own paper bag, which is then rolled down to the halfway point. At the mark, owners place the bag on the ground and let go. We will award the ferret first...and last! to exit the paper bag! Chariots of Fire: Using a pre-constructed "chariot" (aka cardboard box with a string) - you will pull your fuzzy to the finish line. If your ferret leaves his/her chariot - you must stop and place the ferret safely back inside the chariot before continuing. Each ferret gets to keep his/her chariot as a special reward! This game is limited to 20 participants. Ferret Jockey: Owner assumes the "horse" position while a helper places the ferret in the "jockey" position. When the mark is sounded, owners move on hands & knees toward the finish line. First "horse" across wins. The trick is, you must have your jockey in position the entire time you are moving. If the jockey should choose to leave its mount, the horse must stop and the helper must replace the jockey before forward movement can resume. The Great Sock Escape: Each ferret will be placed into an adult sock (to just beyond the front feet). The fastest and slowest ferret to escape their sock will be awarded in this competition. Matchbox Races: Matchbox cars will be arranged on a track, the ferret to push their car the furthest (with the help of a treat) down the track. Cup Tip Surprise: Ferrets are enticed by a "random pattern" of cups. The ferret to knock over the most in one minute is the winner. Random cups will hold a special "surprise" inside! Vital Statistics: Awards will be given for: Heaviest & Lightest Male, Heaviest & Lightest Female and Shortest & Longest Tail. Ferrets must have written proof of rabies vaccination within one year of 9/10/06 and distemper vaccination within two yearsof 9/10/06; unless accompanied by a note from your veterinarian stating that the ferret can not be safely vaccinated. Please use your own judgement and common sense. Admission: $5 adults ($4 TRFC members) - admission includes 3 raffle tickets! (we accept credit cards, cash & checks) Games: $1 each, with exception of Chariot Race - $5 (you keep the chariot) Location: South Park - Silent Brook Barn, located on Hundred Acre Drive (off of Corrigan Drive - across from the skating ring).
