Greetings to all in the fml We have been very busy here at Coffee Creek. Our youngest "own" ferret Herman had to have his spleen removed. It was hugemongus. The doctor said it weighed in over 8 ozs. That is pretty big in proportion to a ferret body, just ask Herman. The surgeon used surgical glue to close the incision so he can still wear a speedo this summer, lol. He is doing so much better now, after surgery, two weeks of antibiotics and a great big bunch of tlc. We also got a new little older lady, we named her Polly. She had been poorly treated and we are having a bit of trouble getting her to play with anyone. She mostly wants us to hold her and she kisses our arms, hands or face. If you sit her down she sits pretty much where you put her until you come back. The woman that gave her up didn't have a name for her. She said that mostly she stayed in a cage and that she didn't have time for her. I am not sure about anything she said because Polly doesn't seem to know what to do with the ramp in her new cage or her hammock. Also she drinks a lot of water. She is on her way to visit the vet, as of course she hasn't had any vaccinations ever. As close at the woman could figure she is about 8 years old. She will NOT play with any other ferret at all. Any advice on how to get her to play with anything or anybody would be helpful. Sincerely Kim and the gang from Coffee Creek [Posted in FML issue 5350]
