Well, it's time for me to make to make the post I prayed I'd never have to make. For now, I must close my door to all incoming surrenders. I have a surrender of 12 coming in this weekend that will put me at 55 ferrets, plus my nine personal ones. When I started sheltering my limit was 25. Since then I've added cages, stacked them on top of each other, etc. I am now out of room. I have no where else to go with them???? <sigh> I hate to do this, because I worry about what will happen to the ferrets that I cannot take in. Where will they go?! Who will love them and care for them?! This is one of the most heart breaking moments of my life. I will be opening my doors again as soon as some adoptions come thru -- however, since most of the shelter kids are older or on meds, it could be awhile. Please -- if you have room in your house for another furry member, think about adopting from you local shelter, we are all so full right now. And remember you are not only helping out one ferret -- but you are making space so another one can be rescued! Hopefully this closure won't be long ??..
