COME ONE, COME ALL! To the greatest event of all time! A Global Entertainment Spectacular! Join the FUN! Greater than the first lighting of the lighthouse at Pharos! More appalling than the destruction of the Sphinx's nose! Worse for global warming than SUVs! Incorporating wider straddles than were claimed for the colossus of Rhodes! Yes! It is REAL! The greatest Earth-circling race of all time! The famed Oracle and the Ferret Charmer, and one ferret navigator each (Names will be announced as the race is proceeding.) will compete to circle the planet TEN TIMES over a space of three to five days on pre-ordained, meandering routes designed to allow fans all over the planet to watch as they speed overhead in methane driven hover wagons! (Gas masks are advised.) The amount of beans, kindly provided by Taco Bell and Kunners, permitted for each contestant has been carefully calculated, but in case either individual over-does fueling at any point, risking an Emilia type of situation, rescue personnel have been strategically deployed around the face of the Earth, and each hover wagon has been supplied with a GPS transmitter (as well as a Lojack, a life raft, and free navigation advice from AAA). The competitors have spent this weekend inspecting their crafts and providing surprise paint jobs and other decorations to help their fans spot them as they pass overhead. *** For the joy of all, viewers around the globe will be able to write here on the FML of their sightings! *** Take off is scheduled for 3 a.m. EST U.S. from Long Island, heading east, on Ferret Day, April 2nd. Please, as they pass overhead, do not tempt these women with other foods or with burpy soda pops which will cause oral depletion of precious gas. Over and out. -- Sukie (not a vet, and not speaking for any of the below in my private posts) Recommended health resources to help ferrets and the people who love them: Ferret Health List http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/ferrethealth FHL Archives http://ferrethealth.org/archive/ AFIP Ferret Pathology http://www.afip.org/ferrets/index.html Miamiferrets http://www.miamiferret.org/fhc/ International Ferret Congress Critical References http://www.ferretcongress.org [Posted in FML issue 5200]
