Patricia Last Longshadow Farms Versailles, KY' URGENT! A bill is scheduled for a hearing this Tuesday in the Florida State Senate that will require Florida hobby breeders and rescues to be licensed as pet dealers and open their homes to inspection. Florida SB 674 requires any person who advertises the sale of a single dog or cat to include their "pet dealer" license number in the ad. Hobby breeders and rescuers will be forced to be inspected by the Florida Department of Agriculture, or any group it chooses, before obtaining a license. If this passes, the right of Florida hobby breeders and rescues to sell dogs and cats will end on July 1st, 2006.
