Hope everyone had a good monday. I did! I took a beautiful drive north to Ferretwise. I got kisses from Gravy and a nibble from Nestle (perhaps because I called him Hershey!). And I got to see my beloved Albus ( and Bisquit (-: Jeremiah was doing well, taking a slow stroll around the shelter, checking everything out. Hopefully everything was up to par in ferret standards! The treats and nutrical were out, so I think it passed his ferrety standards! The shelter crew was looking well, they get lots of attentive care from Alica! I went up to help Alicia with a shelter mailing. Let me rephrase, I went up to do a shelter mailing for Alicia, what I actually did was help out, a bit. I knew it takes a lot of effort and money to get one made, but it also takes a lot of time to put it together. Try collating, folding, and stuffing a few hundred envelopes. Then a few hundred more. Then perhaps a few hundred more. Well, we didn't get quite that far - there's still quite a few hundred more to do. Luckily while stuffing (and in between envelope licking - yuck!) I got to chat with Alicia. It's great to hear of all the projects she's working on for the shelter and for ferrets in general. But it's a lot. And I couldn't even help get this one mailing done for her! If you get the shelter newsletter enjoy all the info and fun! If not, check out www.ferretwise.org and you can subscribe to the newsletter and be up to date on all the shelter happenings. And if you're in the Marlborough area, there's a few hundred more envelopes to stuff (-: Risa PS I got the new Ferrets issue with Alicia's article about helping ferrets recover after surgery. Great section about administering ferret medications! [Posted in FML issue 5160]
