What was heard on the talking heads show on WBAL was not an "Anti Ferret Bill" it was regarding the banning of exotics.....the talking heads assumed that this included ferrets which caught the attention of a good friend of mine. Being the good friend that he is and knowing my love for the fuzz, he gave me a heads up. (Miscommunication # 1. Up until last night I was under the impression that the state of MD (specifically Baltimore County) viewed ferrets as caged exotics. I was told this by an employee of Baltimore County Animal Control. Miscommunication # 2. I apologize for the miscommunication. I thought I was moving forward with correct information. Apparently, I was not. Fortunately, before swarms of ferret lovers with their weasels in biker jackets en tow swarmed the White House lawn, I received a phone call from the founder of the Baltimore Ferret Club, Dianne Rodgers, who has worked for years to have the ferret classified as a DOMESTIC PET, which according to her they are classified as a DOMESTIC PET in the state of Maryland . The topic currently in committee (not yet a bill) regarding the "exotic ban" is directed primarily at large snakes, lizards, gators etcetera. Again, sorry for the confusion.
