Finally took my little old man, Nibbles, to the vet yesterday. They were closed Monday and we had a snow storm Tuesday. I would have took him Tuesday if he took a turn for the worse yesterday. but by Wednesday, he acted normal again. Walking pretty steady and straight. He stopped his crying ((he is a cry baby). I had been giving him extra feeding thru the nite and some Nutri-cal. The vet siad he may have just had a virus that he was able to take care of himself. But she also said, he very well may have had an Insolinoma episode. She said to watch him and if he gets more of these episodes, she'll do blood work and put him back on his Prendosone. Possibly even another surgery, but that isnt usual. Besides, I dont know if I'd put him thru another one at 6 yrs old and just having one about 7 months ago. I may check into the implants too. She didnt do his blood work because he was normal again and , like I said, he's a big crybaby!! One time, I was in the waiting room and they took him to the lab all the way at the back of the building to test his blood. Suddenly I heard this loud high pitched screaming in the waiting room. It was my Nibs and they hadn't even drawn the blood yet. He was screaming so much, they never took the blood that day! He's a real brat!!! She didnt want to upset him again unless it was necessary. So for now were on a watch program here. If he has problems again, we go back to the vets. She also noticed, as I had, his fur seemed to be thinning out. We're hoping its the shedding season thinning it out. We're hoping even more its not the Insolinoma coming back too. I want to thank everyone for e-mailing me. They helped so much since I was so scared when I sent out what I call "my cry for help!". The advice was all good and I used it to bring my nibs back to normal. It also made me feel better that New Years Day. Many reassured me and helped to calm me down. I knew my ferret freinds would come thru for me. Thank-you so much from my heart and from my Nibbles heart too! [Posted in FML issue 5116]
