I have some info about ADV testing. The University of Guelph is doing the same test as United was/is doing. They will accept blood samples from America. Alicia from Ferretwise and Lisa from Oxford Ferret Rescue have both taken on the task of finding out the best/most cost effective ways to get the blood samples across the border and into Canada as well as the legal aspects (thank you ladies!) As for the test itself, the university takes the samples EXACTLY the same way United did/does. PLEASE, do not contact the university at this time, they have been overwhelmed with calls and have asked me to field calls for them and forward the paperwork for them until this all cools down a little. If you are submitting ADV samples or are thinking of submitting them in the near future, please contact me for the shipping address and appropriate forms that MUST accompany ANY blood samples. Vets and shelters, if you are interested in seeing the format the lab gives the results back in, please let me know and I can forward the lab result forms as well. Lisa and Alicia will no doubt post their findings shortly as to how to get blood to the University as soon as they find the best method. As always, if you have ANY questions, please fell free to contact me by phone or e-mail. 416-251-4333 Miss Randy Melanie Belair President The Ferret Aid Society <http://www.ferretaid.org/> Join us for the IFC Ferret Aid 2006 Conference!
