hello my fert friends! i hoop all yer holidays were filled with fun, love and laughs! It was CRAZY at the shelter, so many sick kids. As always, i'll start with the happy stuff tho :) we're all so VERY proud of auntie Paige :) she's taken a VERY long road trip to help with the Katrina rescue efforts down in NO with all the homeless animals. She left on Dec 27th with a group from Toronto to help bring back as many homeless animals as they could back to Canada. WAY TO go auntie Paige!!! AND thank you to the volunteers who supported her and covered her shifts at the shelter back in Toronto with the fuzzies. Many of them wished they could have gone with her. Many thanks to auntie Shannan who kick started mommie's Christmas spirit into gear this year, it really wasn;t in her heart this year until you came around. You snuck a tree into the shelter room, set it up, placed oodles of pressies under it and surprised mommie on a bad pain day with gifts not only for the shelter kids but for her too. Christmas eve was meant to be filled ONLY with thoughts of Paris kids and joy. Mommie had collected MANY of your wonderful words, poems, songs and words. Auntie Bonnie and uncle Nigel even bought over a 4 foot blow up bear (many of the kids got to play with) and they were going to read and sing to all the kids once all the guests arrived. - they didn't get as far as mommie had planned. Riker crashed. He was an Easter rescue kid. uncle Nigel weighed him - he lost OVER 500 grams ( 1.3 pounds) and smelled like sour meat. mommie was panicked. No money for emergency (much like the dilemma of Rufus only days earlier) so that kind of ruined the plans. The rest of the weekend was spent on Riker, sub-q, force feedings and watching him like a hawk. He's going in for exploratory surgery tomorrow along with Rufus, though Rascal (our *almost* blockage surgery) escaped surgery by passing the blockage this morning! It's been a crazy holiday weekend! Many thanks to Robin and Bailey for your donations to help with surgeries for Rufus and Riker. Your help is MUCH appreciated!!!!! mommie visited Rufus this afternoon. He's not looking great, but holding his own.out of all the kids (Rufus, Riker & Kelso) having surgery tomorrow, he's the one mommie worries for most. He's so weak and mommie knows what's in store for him. PLEASE, please, keep him and Riker in your prayers and thoughts tomorrow. Mommie and uncle Nigel will go and be with the 3 boys during surgery, hold their little paws and give them loving. They all need your healing light. Rufus especially, he is the weakest of the bunch.
