It was another beautiful breaking of dawn at the Rainbow Bridge; animals of all sorts were stirring, beginning their day as the flowers had surrendered the last of their dew to the morning sun. Muldoone was at the Bridge on that morning to greet two new residents who would be arriving soon. A dark-eyes white gentleman by the name of Aristotle would be coming and a sable ferret by the name of Lucky would also be arriving. The breeze began to pick up a bit and Mully knew this was the first signal that the two newcomers would be here soon. The sweet sad Ferret Promise Song began to swell on the breeze offering comfort to a grieving heart back on earth and waiting to give a warm loving embrace to the two who came. It sang of happier times, days of laughter and playtime, and whispered promises that love was eternal. At the moment each ferret passed, the Creator gently took them in His thundering velvet right hand and whispered to their hearts "I knew you before you were ever a ferret, I knew you while you were on earth, and you have returned to Me, rest now wee-one, you are home, come and start your new journey that begins at the Bridge." The lights danced, reflecting the brilliant hues of the rainbow. The light flashed brightly once more and then the sound of ferrety feets could be heard making their way across the time-worn boards that made up the Rainbow Bridge, connecting that other world to this one; the world which held fuzzies of every size shape and color, fuzzies who waited for the day they would be reunited. After the flash of light subsided, Mully heard the unmistakable sounds of ferrety feets coming across the time-worn planks of the Bridge; the Moonbeam Molly Express having delivered two more ferrets whose time on earth had been cut short. Mully stepped forward to greet the new arrivals. "Welcomes to da Wainbow Bwidge Soda, I be Mr. Muldoone, officialist Bwidge Gweeter." Muldoone leaned forward offering his nose to both the ferrets in a friendly greeting. The ferret known as Aristotle looked all around surveying his new surroundings. "So this is the Rainbow Bridge" he stated in a clear and perfect speaking voice. "I have heard so much about this place but had no idea it would be this beautiful. It is so wonderful to not feel pain nor do I feel tired, in fact I feel just like a kit again" and with that he went into a wild weasel-war-dance and even Muldoone had to admit, this guy had amazing speed and agility as well. "Dat be yur gift from da Boss, He makes us wike a kit 'gain whens we get here. No more hurts or pain" Muldoone explained to Aristotle. Presenting Mully with a low sweeping bow, "My compliments to the Boss" Aristotle told Muldoone, "I feel better than I have in a long long time." Turning to the other ferret known as Lucky, Muldoone asked him if he knew where he was and he answered yes, he too had heard of the Rainbow Bridge. "Misser Muldoone, a nice wady had comes to get me from a pwace dat not takes very gud care of us and she gets us outta dere but I goes to sleep in her wap and den I wakes up here. I twy not to, I be sick and I wanted to goes home wiff da nice wady. You tink she forgibs me acause I not stay wiff her?" Lucky asked Mully. "I be sur she forgibes you Wucky, you no can helps it iffins you be sick and den goes to sweep and comes here. I has a messagus for you froms her, she say she bees sad dat she not get to you sooner to takes you to da dock-tor but dat she loves you bunches and dat dere be odder fewets here; Pumba, Snowball, BB, Tinker, Mochie and Cuddles dat will help to watches ober you. Dey will helps you get settled and shows you all da fun tings we has here." Turning back to Aristotle, "I has a special messagus for you too, dere be a nice lady who was to be your secwet santa and she say you comes here just afore Cwistmas and she be feeling sads bout dat but she say you be woved very much." "What a thoughtful and generous thing for that lady to do for a ferret she had never met" Aristotle said to Muldoone. Brushing away a tear from his eye, Mully could see Aristotle was very touched by what he had been told. "Mr. Muldoone if there is a way you can send a message back to the nice lady on earth, will you tell her please I thank her very much for her love and kindness. There are not enough humans to go around for all the ferrets in need. Please tell her I thank her very much." "Airstone, would you wike me to shows you 'round? Muldoone asked the newcomer. "Yes I think I would like that very much and by the way Mr. Muldoone, the name is Aristotle not airstone. It appears Lucky is doing just fine with all his new friends so I would gladly accept a guided tour of this wonderful place" he told Mully. ~~Muldoone~~ Caring for your ferrets at the Rainbow Bridge.
