Last Friday Virgina Childs, better known as Ginny, went to the Rainbow Bridge to cross over and join her beloved husband Dick and their animals they've had through the years, including Kooky the coati mundi and inumerable ferrets. She was a co-founder of the Tucson ferret club later to be known as Ferret Friends, Inc. She did so much for the ferret community here, organizing picnics and shot clinics and taking in the rescues. I have only known her for the last four years and she seemed to have tireless energy at times but in the last two years was hospitalized several times for problems associated with diabetes and osteoporosis. Pneumonia set in recently and organs failed. She passed away and got her wings. She is survived by one brother, three step-children, her faithful cattle dog Brighty (subject of her Christmas story in Modern Ferret magazine) and her special friend and Godson Don Heywood, as well as her friends from the ferret community. A memorial sevice will be held Saturday at her trailer park's clubhouse at 2 pm. Memorials may be sent to Ferret Friends % Dian Curran, Treas., PO Box 594, Vail AZ 85641. Sandee, please check on her and her special latest ferrets to go to the Bridge, Leo and little Misty. There are so many more. Carol Owens Ferret Friends, Tucson [Posted in FML issue 5049]
