I have had a similar experience with the super petz here in Michigan. I like to travel to pet stores just to see the ferrets and on this particular day I vivisted super petz. I had been to this store about a year ago when they first opened and was totally surprised by the smell the flys and the condition of the cage that the ferrets were in, they had food dishes with bedding in it very little water they had hammies and toys but the only problem with that was they had eaten half the hammack and the plastic igloo. Our petco here isn't any better. I too buy supplies there at least once a month they have had the same ferrets for about two months when I asked the store personel about this she explained that three of them got ear mites so they had to be seperated until the ear mites were gone I asked what happens to the bigger kids they can't sell she told me they keep them til they sell them but yet they had gotten in another shipment of smaller ones which they kept seperated except for two of them which they put in with the larger ones. And the smaller one was really a biter because this lady offered to hold the one that bites because she bragged about having seven kids and she thought she could handle this one but it latched on to her finger and drew blood. I was totally surprisedby this I had never seen a ferret draw that much blood and not let go. I really wish some times that the only way to get a kid is by special order because they are a very special pet. Any ways while I was there they had a kit that I had never seen one like it its coat underneath was white and the top hair brown but its eyes were red like an albino anyone ever see a ferret like this? Well sorry to babble on. Stacy [Posted in FML issue 5019]
