My Critter (MF male) was dx'd with Prepucial Adenocarcinoma at the age
of 6. I had it removed surgically, it returned. I also had a PU done
(forget what it stands for but is basically rerouting his urinary tract
to bypass the penis). Six months to a year later I had it removed again.
It came back, this time after consulting the vet, we watched it to see
if it grew, it didn't get any larger. The PU also never seemed very
effective, he still peed like a boy. I guess it was just precautionary
in case his urinary tract got blocked. Either way, the PU procedure is
something I wouldn't repeat unless absolutely necessary, it was
expensive, hard on Critter and hard on me and had no redeeming value at
that point.

Even though it kept coming back, Critter lived to 8 1/2 years old.
Everything I read about Prepucial Adenocarcinoma did not leave me feeling
hopeful, however at 8 1/2 years, I'd have to say it didn't shorten
Critter's life.
