Surprises me that ferrets rescued under these conditions would be adopted out so quickly. Maybe a 30-day foster first? As to the adrenal surgery, if I found my guys 30 days later and one had had adrenal surgery, I would reimburse (if at all possible) - if not, hopefully donations would cover it. The real problem, as I see it, would be in first locating a missing pet. Then establishing ownership could be quite a challange .... we know our own, but most people I show my ferrets to always ask - "How can you tell", esp. my two shaded silver boys ... Just a suggestion: To be safe, I always get mine microchipped. A little late for the Katrina pets, but not too late for everyone else .... I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is .... [Posted in FML issue 5006]
