Condolances to those that have lost fur kids. A recent FML thread explored the concept of every ferret being able to be placed. Shelters often get older ferrets in and shelter moms and dads are often reluctant to move them again for fear one more move may prove to be too much. The best solution then, is to attempt to place these sweet seniors directly into good, screened homes. Many here have offered to take in a Katrina ferret. One poster embraced going out to a shelter and adopting a ferret in place of a Katrina ferret. What a wonderful idea! Here is an opportunity for someone to take in 5 senior babies. All are precious. All are special. All need you. I will be screening the home for these kids. They are the victims of unfortunate circumstances; not any different from a Katrina ferret, really. Here is a little information on these sweet babies. Minnie and Sugar are females, caged together and don't mix well with other ferrets. Minnie (late alter) is a dark eyed white, 6 years old, early adrenal and deaf. Sugar is partially blind but otherwise reported to be in good health. Sugar, a sable, is also 6 years old. If necessary, this pair could go to a home independant of the other three. The trio are Cheyanne, Sable and Delilah. Cheyanne and Sable came from Utah in 2001 and are around 6 years old. Cheyanne is a washed out silver mitt female and Sable is a sable male. Sable is painfully thin, so likely has some health issues. Cheyanne is totally naked but seems to feel good. Delilah is a silver female estimated to be 7-8 years old. Very sweet; we don't know that she has any health problems, but I am afraid the move will help reveal any that might be there. All neeed shots. Please, contact me at this email address or the Ohio number in my signature line. We can help with transportation within a reasonable distance. We are working with a deadline-this week. Here are 5 sweet ferrets that truly need a hero. I would prefer they go into a private home, if at all possible. Please search your heart and see if there is room in there for just a few oldsters. They won't be around long nearly long enough and don't ask for much.
