Maybe someone could help out the only surviving ferret. The article
states that the humane society is overwhelmed right now. Their phone
number is 607-724-3709.

I'm assuming that they won't be able to adopt the animals into permanant
homes until he's convicted or at least until a court order takes his
ownership rights, but I'm guessing they could go into foster homes until
that happens. I'm sure the ferret would do better in a ferret
knowledgeable home than in an overcrowed, overwhelmed shelter.

Newspaper articles are often only available for viewing for that day.
Maybe our moderator could post the text here. I tried, but there are
advertisements and photos included that I couldn't figure out how to
remove.
