I read somewhere, can't remember where now, that when ferrets scoot their behinds after doing their business, they are doing this to excrete scent from small glands around the anus. Though they've been descented, there are still small glands that have the musky odor and they are leaving that odor behind. That also explains why they go running around to every litter box or newspaper corner and don't do anything, but still scoot. Debbie Whorley [Posted in FML issue 4948]
