Yes, ferrets will play nurse to sick ferrets.
 
Remember that too many raisins can cause kidney failure in ferrets just
as they can in dogs.
 
Fat ferret; Rachel, you need to play with him -- rides on your back so
he has to balance while you crawl around, things he has to sit and then
stand on hind legs to reach, rides on dragged towels, toy mousies on a
"fishing line", digging things, etc.  The enrichment articles by Bob
Church in the Ferrets magazines will help you.  He's collected a lot of
techniques used and added some of his own, and put them into easily read
formats.

Jen, last night you mentioned the valve problem but not:

which tends to mean that you are looking at dilated cardiomyopathy
or what could possibly become it.  Does your vet say that it is not
cardiomyopathy at this point?  Here are 2 places for info on
