HELLO my fert friends! It's been a crazy week at the shelter as usual! Connor and Pandora were adopted this week, but sadly it looks like Pandora will come back. Pandora is not doing well in her new home, has stopped eating on her own and is very sad. mommie thinks she is stressed out as the only real life she has ever known has been at the shelter. the shelter took in 2 cuties this week. Dew is a Dark Eyed White 3 month old little boy. He was bought from a pet store by a lady who did not know how much work a ferret could be. So after only a month, he's at the shelter now. his poops are REAL bad and mommie thinks he may have coccidia so he's on meds. ANOTHER unaltered little boy made his way into the shelter this weekend too. He was found as a stray. All of his canine teeth have been clipped out, a practice seen with some of the back-yard ferret breeders in Ontario. He's VERY chatty but doesn't have a name yet. mommie thinks he's about 1 year old. A lot of the Easter kids are now starting to be healthy enough for adoption. Aldo, Precious, Leo, Lobo, Zorro, Petunia, Dino and Fred all play together now! They are all so cute. Sachi and Bobbi are going into the vet this week for a check up and so is little Tika. We're all hoping Tika can survive surgery as it may be her only chance to live a normal life. She has a HUGE spleen and a HUGE right adrenal. With many thanks to Peter, Kaleigh and Lara for helping to raise over 1/2 of the costs for Tika's surgery. Many thanks also to uncle Nigel and auntie Bonnie for taking care of tincy Tika at their house. Harls is still looking for a volunteer driver to go and see an ophthalmologist. If ANYONE out there can help my mommie get him to Guelph, please e-mail [log in to unmask] Harls NEEDS help! Harls is quite happy and now plays with Spot, Gem, Pandora, Goonie and Dew. I hope you have all had a terrific week! Love to you all, Harley "Bug" The Ferret Aid Society "For the Love of our Fuzzy Friends" <http://www.ferretaid.org/> [Posted in FML issue 4885]
