The co-founder of Greenpeace, an eco warrior, nature's troubador, writer and activist who made "Mother Nature" his life-long passion has passed away from prostate cancer. One of our greatest, has been taken away. We will be hard-pressed to find another as dedicated to making such a difference. He took on critics and corporations, the well-meaning but misguided, and the greedy anything-for-a-buck crowd. He, in the 1970's, sandwhiched himself between a whaling ship's harpoons and one of the great mammals, in an effort to protect it from a crew bent on harvesting the creature. He later took on the most hidious of Canada's acts - the Canadian Seal Hunt. As a Canadian, I believe it's safe to say that we've lost one of our best. Thank you Bob, for devoting your life to protecting the innocent, for protecting the green spaces....thank you for everything you've done to make our world a more tolerable place. May your spirit shine forever in the works of others you've inspired. [Posted in FML issue 4867]
