>I have a female fuzzy who has the worst time with earmites. Seems like >everytime I turn around she has them again. It's funny, her other 2 >cagemates don't have near this bad of a problem After recently treating my 3 furkids for a round of earmites, I remember my vet saying that some flea control products also work on earmites (and not just fleas) because the product(s) go into the bloodstream and are not just topical. However, I don't remember which product(s) he recommended. Does anyone know which of these flea control brands, if any, would work successfully on both fleas AND ear mites? Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution? Since I didn't know about the flea product alternative, I opted for Ivermectin ear drop treatments but wasn't aware that a one-time Ivermectin shot could be given instead. The drops were messy and I had to do one treatment once a week for 3 weeks before everything cleared up but after that, no more problems. My recommendation is the Ivermectin one-time shot unless any of the flea control products can work just the same. Of course, along with any ear mite treatment, a thorough washing of all ferret bedding should be done as well. Jen and the furkids :-) [Posted in FML issue 4867]
