Hi guys I have a ferret, Buddy. He is around three now. He is a mellow ferret who isn't crazy-active like my others but he plays fine when he wants to. For a while now I have noticed he makes noise with his teeth, I'm thinking its grinding. He doesn't seem to be in pain though. He eats normally, his poops are excellent, no tarry substance on his butt, nothing else much. He has vomited food around two times in the past year. I thought it was just a stomach ache or maybe he played too much after eating, but I know that when a ferret vomits frequently it isn't good and requires a check-up. What I was wondering is, should I take him to the vet and get all these tests and x-rays done?? He is a timid boy and I don't want to put him through blood tests or anything. My dad is a doctor and he said somtimes if there aren't many symptoms it might be best to leave it, dont fix it if it isnt broken kind of thing. I am a paranoid ferret-mommy, so I don't know if I should be worried. He has been grinding his teeth for years. Maybe its just somthing he does?? I grind my teeth all the time, but then again I may have an ulcer also. Please help!! Thanks KS and the five fuzzbutts [Posted in FML issue 4853]
