I just took in a little bald rescue boy. His people didn't want him anymore because he was no longer so cute without his hair and the kids were supposed to take care of him and they weren't, etc. The same old story.Well, he went for surgery today and my vet was unable to remove the tumor. He said it was on the right adrenal and it is huge (as big as an egg yolk, he said). My vet thought he might be able to remove it, but it would be a 50-50 chance the little guy wouldn't make it. Since this little ferret is happy and not really sick we decided to try the Lupron route. Has anyone had any experience with Lupron and a tumor this big? My concern (and my vet's concern) is it may not be so effective against a tumor this big. Anything you can share would be appreciated. Also, since it looks like this little guy is going to stay with me, does anyone have any suggestions about how I can get him to leave the ears of my other ferrets alone? He is a relentless ear-licker. I think my crew would accept him if he would stop trying to eat their ears.
