hello my friends! Well, it's official, the shelter kids have a whole new place to call home this weekend. they have finally made mommie go mad and mommie has allowed them to take over half of her living space! the new shelter area is beautiful. i sure wish i was able to play there! The volunteers even have a TV to watch while cleaning cages and playing with ferrets! The painting of the floor was a total disaster, but it was finally finished on Thursday. auntie Paige mentioned to mommie that she had some non toxic paint and mommie did her evil grin thing and subjected poor Wolfie, Oliver, Lila and Stitchie to paw painting on the new floor! many, many thanks to everyone that helped out on Saturday to move the "old" shelter into the new one. most of the kids are very happy to be in their new area, but a few of the Paris kids are real stressed out by the change (mommie has a big bite and huge bruise on her belly to prove it....don't ask, but thanks to uncle Nigel for rescuing her!) The shelter took in a whole bunch of new kids over the last week. Mr. Bean, Punkie, Sybil, Phantom, Cutie, Bad Boy, Candi & Pee Wee all came from the same home. Sybil, Cutie, Phantom and Pee Wee were all not fixed. Pee Wee was "done" this week (thanks to a HUGE discount at U of Guelph) and the shelter is working on raising money for the girls. Mr. Bean (a former shelter kid) and Punkie are both very advanced adrenal. Poor Candi (also a former shelter kid) has cancer and isn't doing great. Mishie came into the shelter during the move on Saturday and she too is not fixed. The shelter's next big project comes on Easter weekend at the All About Pets Show. The shelter volunteers are egging mommie on to change her hair color again (she's been a "normal" blonde for a while). mommie isn't sure what color she'll be, but i'm sure it will be shocking as usual :) mommie and auntie Bonnie are looking forward to going to the Symposium in St. Louis and are hoping to see some of you there. As usual, i'll be there in spirit, watching over you all.
