Seeing Sue's tribute I got wondering what the most fitting ferret names you have run into. The most fitting one for a ferret we met face to face was probably "Boomer". As soon as you hear his name you know a lot about how Boomer was as an individual. What names have you encountered which said a lot about the individual ferret? What toys do you have that your ferrets never tire off? I made a teeter totter that gets used pretty well every day. The tubes get used a lot. Our current crew isn't as big on mousie stashes or on balls as past ferrets so right now those sit a lot, but we have had some ferrets who liked nothing more. Daleks are big around here. Usually we have a light weight overturned plastic basin or a box for rushing around blindly in, but years ago we had one who loved an over-turned wicker basket and a houseguest who was listening to shortwave with Steve was startled to find a wicker basket rushing past him as fast as it could go (warp speed basketry -- okay, it wasn't really Warp in there; it was Meeteetse). Socky-head is big here. That is when a ferret puts a sock over his head (usually here this has been a game of males -- but always with my socks rather than Steve's) and then dashes around blindly bumping into everything. All the ferrets get time out of the ferret room with individual attention and the bed is greatly loved for bouncing, burrowing, through covers wrestling, and playing keep-away (Oh, and also when we make the bed usually at least one gets to be placed in the middle of the sheets or blankets and rolled and lightly tossed.) Hubble is a big one for riding laundry so many garments have to know the floor before they reach the washer. Morney is a climber and a jumper so furniture and barriers are daily toys for her. What types do your ferrets like (besides you, of course)? [Posted in FML issue 4795]
