I had a busy day today. Good thing too because I was getting in too much trouble with the kits and Da Boss was not too happy with the bad tricks I was teaching them. Sheesh, ferrets are supposed to do things like tag and nip the wolverines and ride the kitties. Anyway, I went and collected a few pals: Moxy, Baby, Mitzy, Sandy, Beaseley, Bear, Toby, Murphy, Daisy, Heidi, Casey, Smokey and Bandit. And we all trotted down to the Rainbow Bridge to await a new little soul. We didn't see a white glow at the end of the bridge like normal ... we saw an orange glow. And out of it came a little fella dragging an orange fleece across the bridge. He looked a little dumbfounded seeing all the ferrets and a stranger with them. "Hi, my name's Sandee and I'm here to greet you and guide you over Rainbow Bridge." His eyes were so bright. I wanna twinkle in my eyes like that! And he was so sleek. His mates were so happy over his transformation, they ran over to greet him with dooks and power sniffs. It made him giggle. He said he was more than ready to go, and that he hopes that his mom understands this. He said he tried to hang on the best he could to say good bye to his mom. But he said he remembers her crying. We all told him that time would heal her and she would stop crying ... not to worry. "You sure don't seem to be shocked to be here," I said. "Well, it was like on the way up, I could hear my mommies thoughts and words. And in the wind I could hear her talk about this place. I was pretty prepared. Plus I was so tired, I just wanted to rest. It was so nice to just rest. But now ... I don't want to rest," He shouted. And he pounced his buddies and they rolled all around the clouds. I told him I had a good surprise for him. Since his mommy said that he loved potted plants, I knew just the right place to go ... the meadow. All the plants in the world to dig up. So all of us trotted down through the lilacs and daisies to the meadow. I told him about all the surrounding gardens to investigate and ... that's when he took off! He dove down and snorkeled through the grass and the others followed. I haven't seen him since! So there you have it ... Buddy with his buddies together forever and waiting on mom.
