Hello everyone! This is specifically aimed toward ferret owners who live in/around the Seattle, WA area. Just throwing it out to see if anyone is interesting in assisting with my need or might have suggestions . . . . My 6 yr. old Phoebe is currently on a total soup diet and gets meds 2x/day mixed in. She eats 4 TBSP of soup at 6:30 am, doesnt appear to be eating kibble throughout the day, but seems to be fine until I arrive home around 4:45pm to give her the next round of 3-4 TBSP of soup. (She then gets one more round of 4 TBSP of soup between 9:30 10:00 pm and again seems to be fine with the 8 hr. break between 10pm and 6:30am). Well, my schedule will soon be changing and Ill be gone two nights a week (most likely Tues & Wed evenings) until approximately 8pm and therefore wont be able to get home to feed Phoebe her early evening meal. Since I already know Phoebe will not eat cold soup, I cant put it out for her to graze on throughout the day and evening and its almost impossible for me to get home on my lunch hours to feed her. So Im looking at hiring someone (preferably a ferret owner) to come to my home and give Phoebe her very simple evening meal two nights a week so that she doesnt starve. (I do have a roommate but he is VERY unreliable and cannot be counted on to do this for me. Also, Ive got some friends who are willing to help but for long term Id prefer someone with a consistent schedule of availability). I really don't want to hire a stranger from a 'pet sitting service' unless anyone has a good recommendation. Pay is negoitiable and Im also open to swapping goods or services (I work at Starbucks Coffee Company and get discounted coffee/tea/food/dessert products). No syringe feedings or anything like that required. Soup is already prepared; just needs her meds added to it, heated in the microwave for a few seconds, and put in front of her. Im hoping I can wean her back on kibble but then again, I know that shes getting a much healthier diet with the soup. If only she would eat enough kibble to tide her over throughout the day then I wouldnt feel so concerned about being gone so long on these two days a week. So, if anyone out there is interested in making some extra $$ or has any other suggestions, please contact me directly. I'd greatly appreciate it! THANKS, Jennifer and the 3 Amigos :-} [Posted in FML issue 4762]
