Hello my friends, mommie and the other volunteers have been super busy lately so i thought i would take the time to update you on what has been going on at the shelter with the Paris kids..... i MUST say, all of the volunteers were super surprised at how much money the Christmas Card Exchange brought in. it brought tears to mommie's eyes. The love from other ferret lovers who sent boxes to the Paris kids also made mommie cry. ALL of you will be getting something in the mail as a confirmation that your packages came to the shelter. if you don't get anything in the next 2 weeks, PLEASE let mommie know so she can fix that. There are a few boxes mommie hasn't picked up yet as they were not marked as "gifts" and we have to pay duty on them. mommie will be getting to the post office this week! Now for the REAL update.....i have a couple of sad things to share and i'll get them outta the way 1st and end on a happy note. Blossom has developed a weird skin condition. HUGE, open wounds have been forming on her skin, scabbing and oozing. she went to the vet last week and had a skin biopsy done, we're just waiting for the results. She is in pain so mommie has been giving her meds. Sadly, one of the sweetest Paris kids is no longer with us. Leezil crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday Jan 7th at 9pm. She was a very shy girl who loved to dance when no one was watching. She leaves behind her very shy sister, Zoey. Leezil crossed after a routine spay where she bled out. We are doing a post, sending away tissue samples to determine exactly what happened to this little bundle of laughs. R.I.P. Leezil, at least you finally knew love before you left us..... Sugar is going into the vet to be spayed on Tuesday. The shelter can't wait any longer, her vulva is growing and her belly is swollen and hard. She's NOT preggy so we're all worried it's something else. Elvis, where to begin? this little boy with TWO displaced hips has war danced and chatted his way into all of our hearts. he went from a mere 745 grams to a WHOPPING 1755 grams in LESS than a month! That's like adding a whole other ferret to his body! He is just about ready to undergo his hip surgeries and a neuter. The shelter took in 2 more kids this week. Caravella and Mica were family pets who were about to be bred until auntie Paige and auntie Olympia talked their owner out of it....SO, the shelter now has these 2 bundles of cuteness! On a FANTASTIC note, i'm proud to announce that Chip & Snow have officially been adopted. They follow Tank, who went to his new home a short time ago. Chip and Snow will go to their new home this week. My love to you all! Harley "Bug" The Ferret Aid Society "For the Love of our Fuzzy Friends" <http://www.ferretaid.org/> [Posted in FML issue 4752]
