Eric Corbett took it on himself to report a vet for referring to information published in the BSAVA Manual. If the case was so serious why did the Merial vet not file the complaint herself? Did either Merial or Eric Corbett know the information was in the BSAVA Manual at the time of the complaint? What was the RCVS response to Mr Corbett? Would Mr Corbett care to print that (in .pdf format) or should we ask the vet concerned for his copy? Mr Corbett refrained from mentioning that the RCVS did not order the vet to change his practices. The fact remains that Mr Corbett's behaviour could well have caused this vet to turn away from ferrets with the result that the RSPCA would not have had a successful case. It would appear that Mr Corbett's only motive in printing his complaint to the RCVS (which, until this point, he has repeatedly refused to do so) is to detract from his potentially harmful effect on ferret welfare cases. Is Mr Corbett pleased that there has been a successful prosecution case for neglect and ill-treatment of ferrets. He seems to have ignored the important news in favour of covering his own back! -- Sheila Bolton Ferret Welfare Declaration Day Quote of the day from Vini Faal, "Alun Michael is to animal welfare what King Herod was to baby sitting".
