I've made a few sweatshirt hammocks that involve sewing. Cut off the sleeves straight up from the body, sew the neck and waist shut, lay a heavy cord on each side and fold the edge of the shirt over the cord. Pin in place and sew to make a tunnel for the cord. Then make a loop at each end of the cord for a shower pin to hold it to the cage. This is very cheap and easy. Second hand fleece pullovers are a better quality fleece than bolt material and can be used as is or cut up to make hammies and cubes or shelf pads, whatever. Scraps make fun toys when tied to a heavy cord. Another cheap toy if you have a wild one is to take an old sport sock and stuff it with one or two more socks, then tie a cord or boot lace to it usiing a slip knot. Drag it around for some fun action. Carol O., Tucson [Posted in FML issue 4677]
