I wish to publicly thank EVERYONE who has sent me such nice emails and letter. Both Calista and Harrison are making HUGE strides. Today, I think, if she was a bit stronger, she would have dooked! She continues to gain weight (approximately 4 ozs in three days). They are both eating well, and are on Amoxi for any issues they maybe harboring. She is on Ped. Pred. for her blood sugar regulation, but we scaled back to one time per day. I think alot of the issues was due to no food at all.... They both saw the vet on Monday evening. They said they were probably both kept in very small quarters for a long period of time. Her legs are very stiff and she is unable to straighten them right. She also has the top of her toes worn away. He feels though, that they will come around. He thinks she may have some brain damage due to the dehydration, but that too may reverse itself or get better. Her eyes are alot brighter and she is in heaven. She loves to sleep in the towels at the bottom of the cage. She does not go up to the hammock too much yet. Harrison is sleeping right now in the hammock. He is alittle better off then she was. He really needs a bath because his coat is stained from the pine bedding they were on. I will keep everyone posted on these guys and let you know how they are doing........after all, my job as shelter mom is supported by everyone of you! I again wish to thank you so much!
