Hey, This is a correction to my post about the Kits and a reply to John for those who are interested. The correction is the age of the kits, I guessed younger than they are. I said 5 to 6 weeks old (not 3 to 5 weeks old john! if they came in at 3 weeks old i wouldn't be the only one at my store to throw a fit) when infact they are 7 weeks according to their teeth. Sukie kindly e-mailed me a list of what age different teeth come in and they are right around 7 weeks old. So there's my corrrection for their age. John, we do not accept 3 to 5 week olds... would their eyes even be open at 3 weeks? yeesh. Also, we do NOT keep them in aquariums, please stop implying that we do. I said we keep them in a 1 level (plus ground floor) cage (maybe a Martin's cage or similar) with a hammock, food, water, toys, litterbox etc. It is a perfectly good cage that I'm sure some small family ferret owners would use themselves. The kits are perfectly happy, bouncing around, playing, Eating, etc. They also appear very healthy. How can I work for this store? well for one because they are great people, for two because it's a wonderful store and I love animals and want to work at a pet store and i don't want to work at petco or another chain store, for three i need the job! No one and no store is perfect. Ferrets do not rule my life. They are important to me because they're some of my favorite animals, but I don't dedicate my life to everything ferrets. All of our animals get great care, including the ferrets. We do not abuse our animals and they fed, cleaned, and watered. You should not trash talk a pet store you have never visted. Please stop trashing my store, yes it has it's faults, but you know, if you want the perfect pet store.. you'll never find it. Personally I want to open my own pet store, but that's not gonna happen and so for now, this is a wonderful place for me to work. And you know, the money thing?.. like I said in previous posts, everyone has to think about it at some point, no matter what job you have. Everyone needs a way to earn an income, there is nothing different between that fact at a CEO job or a pet store job. Pet stores have to survive and pay their people to, so EVERY pet store is in the buisness for money and there is nothing wrong with that. It's when they stop caring how they get it that's wrong. My store does not forget about their animals. We care for them and find them good homes. That's how I can work there. - Jules ps. if you want to reply, please reply directly to me.
