It broke my heart when I read that SB 89 was vetoed in California. I thought of all those people that had such high hopes of freedom for their ferrets. I can remember the fear I lived with when we didn't yet have the quarantine for ferrets. Any bite or scratch incident was a death sentence for our ferrets if the incident was reported. But not being able to take my ferret out in public, to a vet or the store or anywhere is just inconceivable. Yet, 10 short years ago, Michigan was in the same boat as California. If not for the dedicated people that fought for the freedom of our fuzzies we would be living in fear. I ask you fellow Michiganders to join in our 10 year celebration of freedom this year. I ask you to join us to say THANK YOU to those that put their blood sweat and tears into getting ferrets legal.
