http://www.smartgroups.com/message/readmessage.cfm? gid=1423922&messageid=10132&startid=10141 In a 3 year old male ferret, adrenal gland disease causing an enlargement of the prostate which is causing the difficulty in urination should be considered. If no bladder stone(s) show up on the x-ray, then ultrasound the prostate and adrenal glands or if other signs of adrenal gland disease are present (itchy skin, hair loss, increase musky odor, return of sexual behavior, etc) then it is time for surgery to remove the adrenal gland(s) or medical treatment with Lupron, Propecia, and melatonin to reduce the size of the prostate. Hope that helps, Jerry Murray, DVM [Posted in FML issue 4610]
