People have the same questions about vaccines over here too.  How many
vaccine doses (2 or 3) depends on the age of the ferret.  It is ideal to
start the kits at 8 to 9 weeks of age then booster again in 3 weeks and
once again in 3 weeks (ie a series of 3).  For an older ferret (ie
4months old or 4 years old that has not had any previous vaccine) then
one dose now and a booster in 3 weeks (ie a series of 2).  Then once
a year boosters for life.  Yes, there is a newer and better ferret
distemper vaccine.  It is called Purevax distemper from Merial.  It is
less likely to cause an allergic/vaccine reaction.
