Covering the ramp w/a piece of polar fleece cut to size or a folded baby blanket works wonders for little ferret feet. Polar fleece is by far the easiest because there's no sewing involved & it washes beautifully. If you know anyone that sews ferret bedding, they usually have scraps big enough to use, or you could probably get scraps big enough from any fabric store for practically nothing. Cut strips wide enough to cover the top of the ramp & long enough that you can wrap it over the bars of the cage & secure it with small or medium binder clips (cheap from Walmart or office supply, in the paper clip section) on the top & fold several inches under the bottom of the ramp. You may have to reposition it once in a while with a more rambunctious group, but it usually stays in place. It works great for wire ramps too. It's easier on their little feet, prevents little toe nails from getting caught, & prevents corrosion, which will significantly extend the life of the ramp. It also gives a renewed look to old or corroded ramp wire. Juliana Quadrozzi FERRET BUSINESS of GA www.ferretbusiness.petfinder.com 770.984.1417 7-10pm [Posted in FML issue 4589]
