The Portland-based Cascade Ferret Network will be having its 3rd Annual Ferret Awareness Day on June 27th from 12-4pm at Leverich Park in Vancouver, WA. Sponsored by The Ferret Store, the theme for this year's event is "The Ferret Days of Summer" There will be events for both "fuzzies" and their owners alike. Activities (small fee for some): -Health checks, ADV testing, & microchipping curtsey of nationally respected ferret veterinarians from Southwest Animal Hospital will be available for a discounted fee -Face painting -Vet Presentation: "A Step by Step Explanation of a Ferret Exam" -Shelter ferret playpen -Take a spin on the "Weasel Wheel of Fortune" -Trivia test -Fortune telling for you or your ferret by the "Kind of Impressive Aladin Tyme" and his mystical ferret assistants -View educational and entertaining ferret videos and displays Contests: -Ferret/Owner Look Alike Contest. Let your creativity and imagination run wild. Match your ferret's color or style of hair to yours, create matching accessories or costumes, capitalize on a common physical trait or behavior. -Tumbler Tumble. Does your ferret have an obsession with investigating drinking implements? If so, your ferret's tipping talent could win the prize in this competition. -Ferret Kissometer Competition. Does your ferret give kisses upon request to the point of exfoliating your facial skin? If so, your ferret may have the tongue power to triumph at this timed event. -The Paper Bag Bolt. The average brown paper grocery bag is all the training equipment required to get your ferret in top form for this exciting competition.
