MANY lilies are very dangerous to members of carnivora. Have them outside unless you can confirm with a specialist on poisoning in carnivora that they are safe. If you go to http://www.ferretcongress.org and open the critical refs by clicking on the menu on your left you will find the ASPCA site on poisoning. HIGHLY recommended! BTW, that Swiffer rumor is making the rounds again, so go to: http://www.aspca.org/site/News2? page=NewsArticle&id=16054&security=2220&news_iv_ctrl=1400 for ACCURATE info. It is also wise for people to remember that just because chemical names sound similar to non-chemists does not mean that they are at all the same or have the same properties. There was an excellent recent post on this by Linda Iroff who educational background is the right one to understand this stuff. I don't know the attraction of sensationalistic rumors but they sure do take on a life of their own! Now, some things ARE real like the kidney failures seen with some dogs and at least one ferret (no tin the press release) from way too many raisins. That also can be read about: http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=grapes There are MANY things in BOTH the IFC site and the ASPCA Poisoning site to HELP MANY. [Posted in FML issue 4527]
