I have a tattoo of my ferret Amelia's pawprint on my arm. I got the prints by mixing up a moderately thick mixture of non-toxic black acrylic artist paint, painting one of Amelia's paws with it, and then letting her walk around on a big piece of paper. Using a brush to paint her paw pads meant I got a much crisper image than if I had just dipped her paw in paint, and clean up was certainly much easier! A quick soapy rinse of her paw was enough to wash off the paint. I had Amelia make these prints when her insulinoma was getting quite serious, and it was one of the best things I ever could have done. Two months after she passed away, I had her pawprint tattooed on me, and now she steps with me wherever I go.
