With much sadness we commit to a better place, our boy Smokey. We
rescued/adopted him a year ago in March from the Denver Dumb Friends
League. His January checkup was fine, but he started to lose hair in
late March, and was operated on in MidApril, by our good ferretdoc, Dr.
LaBonde. His very aggressive cancer had already engulfed a kidney, and
4cm of vena cava. He was 4+-. He was allowed to come home to be with
us and the others of the business. He was holding his own until Sunday
midday. He left us in his Daddy's arms with his Mom whispering love in
his ear. He is missed by his bestest friend Jesse, and bestest girl,
Sophie. On a lighter note, Maxi the landshark's surgery for a horribly
enlarged spleen went well, and she is back to her active self. She has
searched high and low for Smokus, only to come and ask for reassurance.
Pretty good for a reformed "to the bone" biter.

So now we are three, and with Sophie's insulinoma, looking down the
barrel again. Its so hard, and yet so precious, to share a little time
with these guys.

Thanks for listenin' nancy in colorado
