Sincere heartfelt condolences to those who have lost fuzzies, whether recent or past. As a ferret rescuer 8/9ths of the time so far, I have provided the forever home to every special love coming here for the past 9 years, and have had my episodes with exceptional need ferrets. In early January, I had anxiously written the FML about My Clyde and his diarrhoea, weight loss, and lethargy. I syringe fed Clyde a modified Bob Church Soup recipe all Jan and Feb, trying to give him 10% of his body weight in food/electrolyte per day. Over his convalescent period, my 4YO MF 'product' Clyde has managed to regain much of his lost weight and now feels healthy. Clyde plays and ferrets around v.well, and he makes me proud and happy that I was able to help him so well. Success. Since Clyde's trauma, he has abandonded all his regular dry ferret food, and after losing the taste for BCSoup recently, he will only eat (by choice) a specialized dry cat food. Experts and Armchairs please comment on Clyde's diet of Wellness Super5Mix Adult Cat Food by Old Mother Hubbard. The 'first five' of this food are Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Chicken Liver, Ground Brown Rice, Ground Whole Oats...and protein near 33%, fat near 19%, fiber 5%, moisture 10%, etc. Clyde Really Likes this food, and will self-feed w/o intervention. I still manage to give him 10-20ml BCSoup every other day or so, for maintenance. Here is a site offering or offering to link to dry ferret food information http://www.ferretstore.com/ferfoodcomch.html I wish all ferret lovers could have the success revitalizing their fuzzies as I have had with My Clyde.
